Social Media in the world has advanced exponentially over the past decade. Back in 2003 many people didn’t even know what a social media agency was in the first place, now it looks as if you know someone who doesn’t have at least a Facebook account, you look at them funny. Almost as if they don’t seem to have a life, which isn’t always the case in the first place. So why should a business get on social media? As well, why social media? It’s easy to understand really, for more exposure.
Facebook has expanded so overwhelming that if it had become it’s own government state it would rank up there as the third largest country in the world behind India and China. There are more users on Facebook than there are people in the United States. That say’s a lot about how vital Facebook should be to your company. Though Facebook itself is not a good tool to use as far as marketing purposes is applied to, it is a good way for people to see what exactly is out there.
Twitter has also expanded over the past few years of its existence. With all the hash-tags, and capability of people to post about their daily lives what they’re doing Twitter has become more and more popular, and people enjoy following their favorite stars, athletes and roll models. It would appear that through Twitter people can grow closer to their admired stars that at one point in time seemed almost impossible to do. Not only is Twitter a popular place for people to follow other people, and post comments and Tweets, it is also an excellent way for companies to get more exposure out in the market.
One person asks why social media, and another person should stand up and say why not social media? It’s a vital link in the world, and has connected the human race together like never before. Without social media tools people would have to resort to picking up a phone, or writing a letter, and for the up and coming era they don’t even know what a stamp is, let alone how to connect with other people face to face.
Though other channels are still necessary to your airing to the public such as television advertisements, newspaper ads, and magazine ads, Facebook and Twitter have come advancing ahead since 2006, as well as Google as places that most people search for goods and services as well as industries. The age of social media has arrived, and it’s time to grab the horn by the bulls if you want to survive as a company. It’s time to get into social media now, rather than later to get yourself more exposure to the general public not just in your home country, but around the world as well.
